Red Redefined Takes on China

The launch of Preciosa’s Red Redefined collection for SS 2020 signifies a substantial milestone in the fashion industry’s ongoing endeavor towards environmental sustainability. And following its European launch three weeks ago, it is now touring China.

The collection’s unusual significance stems from one product: a new shade of red called Red Velvet. It is the first cadmium-free shade of red crystal ever produced. Cadmium is a toxic element that is commonly found in red-colored products.

On Tuesday 5th March, the new collection was unveiled in Guangzhou, and on Thursday 7th March it was unveiled at Xiamen. Both events attracted an array of journalists, designers, fashion industry players and Preciosa partners, as guests enjoyed a comprehensive overview of the new collection, as well as the opportunity to touch and view it at their leisure.

Other items from the collection also include new PCT colors Vanilla Silk, Golden Amber and Amaretto, a 57-facet Cushion Cut, a new range of ABS Studs, and a stunning new Slim Baguette MAXIMA in Flatback - ideal for creating geometric patterns.

Up next is Shanghai, before the collection will travel to Thailand to continue its tour of Asia.
