Released in December 2019, Golden: Live in Concert, brings some of Miss Minogue’s new releases and classic hits together in a two-disc commemorative album. Spanning six months, her international Golden tour saw the reigning princess of pop delight fans night after night in several custom crystal embellished looks by London based design house Kolchagov Barba. Among the most iconic were a gold dress covered in an astounding 150,000 Preciosa crystals and an aquamarine romper covered in 80,000 of various sizes and colors.
“Once I step out onto the stage, I don’t see the dress, only peoples’ reaction to it and they love it! The way it shimmers is mesmerizing, and it adds so much to the magic of a show,” said Kylie Minogue about the gold dress having instantly become one of her favorites. “Wearing the Kolchagov Barba dress knowing that each and every one of the beautiful Preciosa crystals was applied by hand was a true delight,” she adds.
Following the conclusion of her Golden tour, Miss Minogue held a record-breaking performance at Glastonbury, which was attended by the largest audience ever recorded at the annual music festival, (not including an additional three million fans who tuned into the Televised live-stream). Including her band and dancers, nearly one million Preciosa crystals could be seen throughout the performance.
In September 2019, Minogue threw a surprise performance at GQ’s Men of the Year Awards held at the Tate Modern in London at which she was awarded the GQ Icon Award. Celebrating one of the most successful years of her career, it was no surprise that she turned once again to Kolchagov Barba for a custom gown, this time embellished with 120,000 individual, hand-applied Preciosa crystals.
