Metamorphosis Debuts in Italy

Preciosa unveiled its latest collection of novelties at a private reception for business partners, brands and designers in Florence, Italy, followed by a spectacular booth at Lineapelle in Milan.

Over one hundred guests attended Preciosa’s cocktail party in late September at a beautiful venue in Florence with sweeping panoramic views of the city’s iconic skyline. Attendees were the first to view Preciosa’s AW 2020 campaign, entitled Metamorphosis, which spotlight’s Preciosa’s newly expanded made-to-order product assortment comprising Crystal Net, Crystal Transfers, Crystal Mesh and Crystal Sheet.

The event was followed by Preciosa’s regular attendance at the international Lineapelle fair for fashion professionals held biannually in Milan. Visitors were the first to test Preciosa’s new Crystal Transfer configurator, which creates a graphic prototype transfer according to the input file and customization parameters set by the user, all in a matter of a few seconds.

“Over the past year, our team has revisited our core values as well as the perceived added value we bring to our customers; after much thought and deliberation, we have decided to focus more heavily on our semi-finished, or what we are calling ‘made-to-order’, products, which both save time and minimize waste,” said Jan Štiller, commercial development director of Preciosa Components. “To ease this shift, we are also expanding our in-house application and design services and enhancing our application center.”

This season, Preciosa is re-introducing our existing made-to-order products, Crystal Net and Crystal Transfers, with new, expanded customization parameters, including the ability to choose from our assortment of shapes and sizes of hotfix flatback stones in addition to round chaton roses. New to our made-to-order product range are Crystal Mesh and Crystal sheet, which come with their own unique set of customization possibilities.

The fashion looks for this campaign were designed by New York-based fashion designer, Christian Cowan, who regularly uses Preciosa made-to-order products within his own collections. Designed as a progression, the look transforms from a simple Crystal Net body suit to a fully crystal-embellished ensemble that made their runway debut in September at New York Fashion Week.
