Five meters of silk, a stunning printed applique of an elegant oil painting, and thousands of Preciosa crystals comprise the centerpiece of Gyunel’s latest dress collection for Spring/Summer 2018. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s tale The Wild Swans, the theme effortlessly combines geometric panels with feather embroidery and feather-slashed leathers, resulting in some truly out-of-this-world visuals. Three dresses in the collection exclusively feature premium Preciosa crystals that were carefully selected from our vast portfolio for the project; needless to say the results are mesmerizing.
The piece mentioned above is named Wild Mutated Swans Saved by Elisa’s Nettle Couture, and it is embellished with bugle beads, feathers and, of course, Preciosa crystals. It was unveiled at the Ritz Hotel in Paris last Wednesday (24th January), along with the rest of the new collection to a gathering of suitably impressed guests, which included French singer Joyce Jonathan, TV presenter Laurie Cholewa, actresses Alix Bénézech and Julie Ferrier.
Also on display was a beautiful jacquard entitled Elisa with Skyriders on Swings, featuring five different colors of Preciosa crystals on woven silk, intended to create a swirling galaxy-like effect, alongside another called Elisa & Brothers in Surreal Galaxy, which again is adorned with five different colors of our crystals and is intended to emulate a hand-painted canvas with a teal ombre effect.
