Behind the Scenes: The Fast-Paced World of a Preciosa Sales Executive

Time is of the essence—especially when it comes to our customers. While production is one part of the process, ensuring our crystals reach their destinations is another. Sales executives are the backbone of Preciosa, keeping operations seamless and customer service top-notch. We spoke with Terezie Šarapatková, a sales executive for the European market, to learn more about her role. Terezie joined Preciosa a decade ago, first as an external English teacher before transitioning into recruitment. Six years ago, she seized an opportunity to become a sales executive—a role she enjoys now more than ever.

Preciosa: Can you share what your typical workday looks like?
TŠ: My workday is fast-paced and follows a clear structure. I handle orders—many of which come in at once—along with urgent customer requests and inquiries about everything from pricing and delivery timelines to manufacturing deadlines for requested products. Since I primarily serve European customers, communication is very active during my working hours because we’re in the same time zone. There’s no “I’ll get to it later”—we act fast and stay flexible.

Preciosa: Why is the work of sales executives indispensable?
TŠ: As the final link in the sales process, sales executives ensure smooth deliveries and solve problems on the fly. We are responsible for the flawless dispatch of shipments to customers worldwide, and even a small mistake can cause major delays. We’re their go-to contact for virtually anything, anytime. And despite rarely meeting customers in person, we build strong relationships through trust and reliability.

Preciosa: What are the biggest challenges and rewards for you?
TŠ: Every market has its complexities—European distributors receive shipments almost daily and often require last-minute urgent additions, much to the delight of our warehouse colleagues. On the other hand, non-European orders involve intricate logistics and customs regulations. But for me, that’s part of the thrill. I love the action, the adrenaline, and the fact that I learn something new with every challenge. Time is both our friend and our enemy—the less we have, the more there is to solve.
